System will have 2 componentse-beatbook – for beat functionarye-Saathi – for citizen servicese-beatbook is a software application which will enable the police beat/division staff to digitalize the data pertaining to his/her beat using the smart phones entrusted to them viz.
the details regarding Leading Citizens, License Holders, people aiding criminals, important/ vulnerable places, hotels/guest houses, religious places, slum areas, criminals operating/residing in the area , community policing initiatives etc.
that was earlier being manually filled by the beat officers in his beatKey Objectives of e-beatbook are:• Reviving of beat constable system for collection of information as emphasized upon by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India in DG/IG’s Conference in Gujrat 2015.• To empower and make accountable the police personnel at beat/division level (SIs/ASIs/Head constables/Constable) by assigning them the responsibility.
In absence a mechanism for micro-management, the lower rank police personnel were easily shirking the responsibility and SHO was being held responsible for every ill.• To develop an authentic system for reporting, prompt redressal and timely disposal of complaints made by the citizens.
